It took over a year for the shoe samples to be shipped to Knight. He immediately mailed two pairs to his coach Bill Bowerman hoping to gain a sale in addition to an influential endorsement. Bowerman not only accepted the order but also offered to become a partner and design better shoes. And the rest as they say is history!
