Sales crossed more than 1000 pairs a month for the hand-stitched slippers and the Clark brothers outsourced the work to labors on the Street, Somerset, England. And, you thought outsourcing was a something unique to our generation!! The sewing machine was soon being used to produce another innovation - the Hygienic range of shoes designed to fit the shape of the foot. In the early 1900s the women shoes became hot-selling numbers.
